A Fluffy Song
You must watch THIS video of A Fluffy Song at a Bread & Puppet performance in Massachusetts. I met several of the puppeteers this spring when they performed at Penland and then in Asheville, they are lovely people.... talented, witty, and so on point with their message. You should certainly go see B & P if you get the opportunity.

JUSTSEEDS INTERVIEW
There is a little interview with me posted yesterday on the justseeds blog thanks to the amazing bec young.
Bec took a two week class at Penland this summer and we met cleaning the Pines together. She is amazingly talented. You can see some of her prints here.

Gretchen
Today I was thinking about my sweet friend Gretchen Schermerhorn who makes
beautiful beautiful things, mostly in print and handmade paper.
She lives in the DC area and I met her while working at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center.
You should visit her website here and snoop through her amazing prints and such.
Make sure to check out her blog too.

Weaving, Round Two
I'm in the weaving studio this week seeing if I can remember what I picked up this summer during Suzanne Halvorson's class.
I've decided one of my favorite things about weaving is that from start to finish (aside from the overhead light)
there is no electricity involved in the process. It's a craft that essentially hasn't moved too far away from its roots and I admire that.

Final Stretch
It has dwindled down to the last few days of my last class here at Penland. This has been one of my favorite classes since my time here as a core fellow.
This particular class has taught me amongst sooo many other things how to set type on a curve...
Like so... thanks to the fabulous Bryan Baker

Walking
Every night when I walk back to the studio in the dark from dinner I hear the same frog croaking.
I realize how easy it would be for me to step on him without knowing.
That is a great burden to me.
