This week i have been printing business cards for glass artist martin janecky.
I met Martin this spring at Penland... he makes amazing, amazing, amazing, things.
The stacks in the photos still need to be trimmed.... but you get the idea.

summer harvesting
Taken a few weeks ago. . . Ryan and i delivering fresh tomatoes, peppers, onions, and greens to the pines.
This was the most rewarding harvest morning we've had yet this summer.

My work and life have been overtaken by rust! The top photo (a better shot to come soon) is a collaborative piece with justin turcotte. It is glass coated in steel, left to rust and cast with handmade abaca paper... also left to rust. If you check justin's site he has a picture of the piece pre-paper. More of these to come for certainly. The bottom is a close up of a beautiful rusty yellow trailer parked near the ol' workplace all last week. Beautimus.

JUSTSEEDS
"Justseeds/Visual Resistance Artists' Cooperative is a decentralized community of artists who have banded together to both sell their work online in a central location and to collaborate with and support each other and social movements."
Well in some stroke of luck I met Bec Young a few weeks ago when she was here at Penland, she makes amazing prints (and more) and is a part of Justseeds. I have been following Justseeds for a few years now.... blown away by the work they do, and suddenly I have one, soon to be two, prints available on their website. It feels surreal but check it out and be blown away by all of the amazing prints and publications coming out of the justseeds community.
